Uncompensated Care at Seattle Children's Hospital
The need for families with limited or no resources to pay for care remains high. In the 2023 fiscal year, Seattle Children's provided care for over 203,833 patients resulting in $354,702,000 in care to families with limited or no resources to pay their medical bills. Uncompensated care ensures kids in our region have access to vital pediatric health care services.
Since 1907, Seattle Children's mission has encompassed excellent pediatric patient care, education, research and child advocacy with a commitment to provide care for children regardless of the family's ability to pay. They believe all children have unique needs and should grow up without illness and injury. With the support of the community and through the spirit of inquiry, Seattle Children's will prevent, treat and vigorously attempt to eliminate pediatric disease.
Your donations directly benefit patient families who need quality care, and will allow them to receive care from Seattle Children's, regardless of their ability to pay. |
Seattle Children's Autism Center
Since opening its doors in 2009, the Autism Center has become a national leader in how to support families living with autism and pioneering research. It is also a vital resource for families throughout the Pacific Northwest, and the only program in the region that provides uncompensated care: diagnosis, intervention, and support regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
To meet the growing need for high-quality treatment, the Autism Center moved to Seattle Children’s Magnuson. At roughly 16,000 square feet, the re-imagined center will allow staff to provide family-focused care to 25 percent more children over the next 5 years. Magnuson is also the hub for autism research, outreach and training so they can keep improving access and outcomes. |
